Question of the Day

According to some studies, "work-life balance" is now the single most important key to job selection for young (21- to 30-year-old) employees, ranking ahead of compensation. Can the trucking industry still attract drivers among this group?

Yes, but the industry will have to figure out a way to offer a wider range of benefits, including flexible schedules, wellness programs and insurance.

No, there's no way the trucking industry can compete on "work-life balance" issues; the nature of an over-the-road job simply doesn't allow it.

Who cares? When it comes to over-the-road drivers, money always has and always will talk louder than anything else.
