ATA contest ranks safest carriers

The American Trucking Associations is now accepting applications to this year’s ATA Truck & Industrial Safety Contests sponsored by Great West Casualty Company. The ATA Truck & Industrial Contests use DOT recordable and OSHA lost workday data to rank motor carriers’ safety records based on type of commodity hauled and size of fleet.

Winners receive recognition as among the safest fleets in the industry, as well as a commemorative plaque. The carriers with the greatest year-over-year improvement are also honored. Additionally, the top three safest carriers in each division are eligible to compete for the ATA President’s Trophy, the most prestigious company safety award in the industry.

The submission deadline is April 16.Applications are available on the ATA Web site at http://smc.truckline.com.
